UC Riverside Addressing Bias and Bigotry
UC Riverside received $500,000 as a one-time resource. During phase one of this funding, UC Riverside has focused on the following areas:
- Mental Health and Trauma Support: Counseling and clinical services, workshops, Title VI Support Model, Well-Being Campaigns, student-centered activities, and holistic wellness programming.
- Education Programming: Case Studies Library, Train the Trainer Program, Online Training Tool Kit, Enhancement of the Free Speech Website, Student Lead Workshops, and Speaker Series.
- Training/Professional Development for Leaders, Faculty, and Staff: Coaching Resources, Professional Training by the National Conflict Resolution Center, development of workshops for student leaders, Training for Professional Staff managing freedom of expression, and campus events.
For phase two of the funding, the Chancellor’s Office and the office of the Vice Chancellor of Student Affairs issued a call for proposals and mini-grant requests to seek the campus community engagement and participation in addressing this critical issue by developing new or expanded initiatives and programs.
