Chancellor Timothy P. White is the latest in a long and distinguished line of leaders at UC Riverside. The Regents of the University of California appointed him in May, 2008, he started his position in mid-July, 2008.
White's academic background is in physiology, kinesiology and human biodynamics, and he is internationally recognized for his work in muscle plasticity, injury and aging.
A first-generation college student who emigrated from Buenos Aires, Argentina to Northern California, White has matriculated within every college system in California. He began his college career at Diablo Valley Community College, then earned his B.A. from Fresno State University and his master's degree from Cal State Hayward. He then earned his Ph.D. at UC Berkeley.
