About the Chancellor

Chancellor Timothy P. White
The Board of Regents of the University of California appointed Timothy P. White as the eighth chancellor at the University of California, Riverside in 2008. His appointment began on a part-time basis on July 18, 2008 and he began full-time work on September 1, 2008.
White came to UCR from the University of Idaho, where he had been president since August 2004. White led the university through some of the most turbulent times. White had previously served as provost and executive vice president at Oregon State University.
He received his Ph.D. in exercise physiology from UC Berkeley and spent two years as a post-doctoral scholar in physiology at the University of Michigan. He is known internationally for his work in muscle plasticity, injury and aging.
